The current implementation can be adjusted to have the correct font spacing, but there is additional design work require if the error is more than one line.

I think those font sizes are wrong (48pt font for the dots?) and the spacing in the login box is out of date (see bug 1056949 for example).

I've committed the error color change to trunk. But for the rest, I'd like to see an up-to-date design mockup..

I'm marking this as fixed to get it off my tracker until Design says there's something wrong with what we have today. (I believe we are in line with mockup intent, though the mockup is out of date.)
