Bug Description

Some bugs like this one are because Unity doesn't use standard GTK widgets.

1. Open System Settings>Keyboard.
2. Make sure "Cursor blinks in text fields" is checked and set the slider all the way to the right so that the cursor blinks very fast.
3. Most of Ubuntu respects this setting but the Dash does not.

If we can get these patches fixed up quickly and easily, then I'm happy to target this for X. If it's going to take days of work, then I'm less keen.

Can you give an indication of the effort this needs?
