Bug Description

Current behavior:
Dragging an app from the dash to the launcher adds it to the launcher
Dragging an app from the launcher to the trash removes it from the launcher.

Suggested improvement:
Dragging an app from the dash or the launcer to the trash should ask the user if he'd like to uninstall the app.

Obviously, Unity should be keeping track of whether the user had sudo privileges and should not show this uninstall prompt (or the apps available for download either).

I previously reported this in Unity as bug #810621. It was closed as opinion with no comment. (I've just set it as a dup of this one).

I don't really understand the status of this bug. It is tagged as design-needed, but the ayatana-design bug task has been closed as opinion while the unity task is set to incomplete, presumably waiting for design feedback.

I really would be nice if people would leave comments when changing bug status.
