Why it should be trasparent? I really don't understand the problem.

Because all the other icons in the launcher "pulse" when clicked until the process is spawned, but the trash one don't have any animation.

The trash should not pulse as opening it is instantaneous and it does not have a 'running' state. However if it can be shown that there are circumstances where opening the trash takes more than around 2 seconds, a pulsing animation could be used in these circumstances only.

This is not truth. In my computer, sometimes it takes about 5 seconds to load (and in middletime, I click the icon again and then 2 windows open). And when nautilus window is open in trash "folder", we can consider that 'trash is running" (at least to common users).

Another point: consistency. When you click in an application icon, it pulses. When you click in a device icon, it pulses. Why trash don't?

Another thing: the same that was said here[1] is valid.
