Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

I see few difficult for using Unity on TabletPC (without stylus, finger only).

Hovers. If I hover over the top panel, a menu appears. It's convenient on Desktop, but I can't do this on tablet. Maybe, it's good idea to create an option that enables alternate method for appearing menu (i.e., button, or click on free space on panel).

P.S. Can you show window buttons (close, minimize, maximize) on top panel always (if window not in fullscreen, duplicate this buttons on top panel). It's inconvenient when I need close few windows (part of it in fullscreen, part windowed), I must move mouse's cursor on screen instead clicking only.

Needs design discussions on how Unity would adopt on tablets. Marking appropriately.

Ekoore (http://www.ekoore.com/web/) that sell tablet PCs with Ubuntu want to work with Unity's interface on tablets (they did many things, but some problems still exists).

Removed the issue about size; that was a duplicate of bug 1075417. So this bug is now only about the hover problem.

Please always try to keep a bug report about a single issue.

At least for Ubuntu in Nexus7 there is the four-finger-swipe multitouch gesture which shows and hides the unity panel (see here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch).
Unfortunately there is no Settings panel for this on Nexus7 and of course one could argue that multitouch gestures still need some tweaking on Nexus7 but the above mentioned gesture works!

Let's just mark this bug Confirmed for ubuntu-nexus7 given that it's true it's not especially discoverable that there are menus behind the window title when maximized; but this will indeed need design input on how to properly address.
