Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

If a .desktop file has been orphaned in /usr/share/applications but no longer points to a valid target, the application still appears available on the dash, but no feedback is given when it then fails to launch.

Similar to Bug #749690 so feedback should be consistent.

True. Dear Design team, what should happen in such a case, when the target of a desktop file doesn't exist?
