Bug Description

When you press the play button on the SoundMenu when no media player is open. There is no visual indication that it is doing anything. Recommendation: Pulse the play button to be consistent with unity launcher's way of indicating opening programs.

edit: Ok, so on closer inspection this behaves like expected already. (Tested on another computer) However perhaps the effect is slightly too subtle.

Tested on 9" netbook. almost completely unnoticeable
Tested on 17" Laptop. Better, but could be improved.

Thanks Kyle, that's great feedback. I wonder whether it would not be
better to:

 - expand the sound menu to provide the space for cover art and track
details if it's not expanded
 - put a spinny in that space to indicate "something starting"
 - flash the triangle ("running pip") next to the media player's name?

Definitely warrants a design task. This can be Oneiric work, Conor's call.

Yes, I think that would be a definite improvement. Would the spinny take the full space (where now the album art and text occupy) ? Alternatively more work could be done to the animation I did last week to make it more glossy and stylish (with a little help from Mirco:). Definitely one for Oneiric.

I expect it would fill the artwork space, yes, so there's no additional
expansion required when the player is launched and we have the track
details.

Okay so do you think it should fill the area horizontally ? i.e. that the spinny thing is centred spanning both areas which the artwork and track metadata now occupy.

No, I would just put the spinny in the artwork space, leaving the rest
blank till we have data for it.
