2011-03-22 18:10:20 Omer Akram summary dash- Search field should have Mouse Right-Click not working in Dash dash- Search field should have Right-Click menu
2011-03-22 18:11:07 Omer Akram description This applies to any Dash overlay, including Alt-F2. For Copy: Expected behavior: You type something in Dash, select it, press Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Shift-C, clipboard gets updated, you paste in some other application and the clipboard contents are, well, pasted. What happens: You type something in Dash, select it, press Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Shift-C, selected text is replaced by a weird squarely character. For Paste: Expected behavior: You copy some text in another application, invoke Dash, press Ctrl-V or Ctrl-Shift-V, clipboard contents are pasted. What happens: You copy some text in another application, invoke Dash, press Ctrl-V or Ctrl-Shift-V, a weird squarely character is displayed. Copy-paste is particularly useful in Alt-F2 and I think this functionality should be included. I strongly believe Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V should be there, not Ctrl-Shift-C and Ctrl-Shift-V. On top of that, I think mouse right-click menu should be enabled in the text field for Dash. It should include "Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select All", which is kind of standard. I believe many desktop users will be missing this feature and it completes the Dash experience. I think mouse right-click menu should be enabled in the text field for Dash.
