Launcher: no visible feedback on click

Bug Description
Clicking an icon in the Launcher (either left-click, or middle-click) the process happens, but no action is visible. The GNOME HIG states:

"When the user performs an action, provide feedback to indicate that the system has received the input and is operating on it. Feedback can be visual, audio, or both."
Ideally the Launcher could provided some form of visual feedback to th euser.
