Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

1. Open the Unity Dash
2. Search for Office
3. Only 1 installed app is shown but 5 uninstalled ones are shown. Even clicking see more results does not reveal the other installed LibreOffice apps.

A search for LibreOffice works correctly.

No, it's still a bug that searching for Office only shows 1 app. It should at least show all of the LibreOffice apps installed, and possibly apps from the Office category.

Yep, searching for LibreOffice produces only LibreOffice (the app which is like a hub for the other LibreOffice applications), it doesn't show the individual LibreOffice applications (Writer, Calc, Impress). This is probably because the search only matches from the start of words. LibreOffice is returned because its 'Generic Name' in /usr/share/applications/libreoffice-startcenter.desktop is 'Office', whereas the others are e.g. 'Spreadsheet'

I marked this as a duplicate of the above bug as even though this one was raised first, the other one described the problem in more detail and has more information on it.

Confirmed that this still exists in Oneiric.

Yes, this is still present in Oneiric, however the search for ''Office'' shows no results at all!

BTW, a search for ''office'' is one of the first things a new ubuntu user will try.

Brilliant.
