Bug Description

Unity 3.4.6
Compiz 0.9.4

Consider removing the desktop icons when the expo plugin is active. The icons are superfluous for the task at hand (switching workspaces and windows between them) and only add visual clutter. Perhaps the wallpaper should also be removed and replaced with a single color just to add more focus to the task.

I think by "desktop icons" you mean the Dash dock as well, yes?

No. But now that you mention it perhaps it should also go. Unless they
plan to use it for launching applications while in workspace mode.

I believe that workspace part of unity have not just been touched for Natty
due to lack of time and that might change in Natty+1 (just my guess)

Do you think there is any chance to at least remove the icons?

No, since nautilus is a separate application to compiz and is not
aware of its state.
