this is the Desktop Menu, though there needs to be some label there like 'Ubuntu Desktop' or 'Desktop' or something else

summary: - Menu appears in upper panel even when unnecessary

No, the desktop menu should not have a title! We specifically want that
corner case handled as cleanly as possible.

Even when the mouse is over the panel? How will the user identify that menu?

No, we prefer to keep the panel clear of any text when the desktop has
focus, even though there is a menu there.

I agre with bug reporter. I was about to post the same bug report when i found this one.

IT LOOOKS BAD... And unpofessional and unpolished and it looks buggy like there is missing something.

Why you marking the best ideas like Opinion or WontFix? Are you totally nuts? You really dont know how to design every tiny aspect of user interface, do you? Or you make all those decission on purpose, to piss off users?

Your "opinion" is a bad one dude. Like dozen ones before, including menu hiding (which should be visible of course) or my other random "WonFix" and "Opinions"

Why i am wasting time with you? Is it love? I will now reboot into Windows 7 and not reporting bugs and suggestion for at least an hour to make you suffer... damn!

Apart from the menu items being really closed together on a larger screen... I'm curious as to what the file menu does in that context.

The bug report has too little information from the reporter and too little information from the rejecter. More information gentlemen about what it is you're saying.
