Bug Description
I'm using Openbox 3.4.11 in my Archlinux x86_64, compositing screen with xcompmgr 1.1.4 and xorg-server 1.10. Awn 0.4.0.
The problem is: either with Window Dodge or Intelli-hide, the dock keeps re-appearing randomly, and overlapping any number of windows, even when they are focused, without me moving the mouse, or any attention event occuring. If I sit and watch my desktop without moving a finger, the dock will re-appear, after a while, and overlap any window that is in the way, thus disrespecting Window Dodge or Intelli-hide expected behaviour.
Any kind of window is overlapped this way, either focused or unfocused, and sometimes the dock gets in the way, for example if it was a terminal and I was typing in it.
This is not a serious bug, but it's very annoying, and almost drives me nuts sometimes.
Any other information I can give, or test to run, to help fixing this, I will. Thanks.
Maybe this is not a bug, but a hidden feature? applet- taskmanager/ attention_ required_ reminder, which was set to 120, so I guess the random re-appearances were in fact timed naggings after a one time attention requirement (and awn considers a lot of things attention demanding, so I was getting this every time).
I found there are options available in gconf-editor (I wasn't aware of this until I read some answers on unrelated bug reports), and one of those was /apps/awn-
Since I set the value of that switch to 0, I haven't experienced those re-appearances again, and am able to love this app once again.
I guess there should be some warning in the Preferences dialog that there are other preferences only available in gconf-editor. This would save a lot of whining & complaining about missing features & unexpected behaviours.
