Chromium starter behaves weird if chromium restarts itself

AWN version: 0.4.1-rewrite-
(sorry if this is too old, but I was not able to install a newer version)
Compiz window manager on nVidia GeForce 8600M GT driver version 195.36.24
My dock contains a chromium launcher. When I click it, chromium starts as usual. If however chromium has not been shutdown correctly, it offers to recover the last session. When doing so, the chromium window closes and reopens with the recovered session. After that, the launcher doesn't show chromium as running anymore (the glowing dot is gone). When you click the launcher, a new chromium window opens. (Switching to the existing window is not possible from AWN.) However, when hovering the launcher, a miniature of the chromium window still appears. (This is a compiz plugin I think.)
Gnome taskbar would still show the chromium window.

I could only reproduce this bug for chromium.
