Does this happen every time after suspend? What graphics card do you use? And what WM?

It doesn't happen every time, but it just happened again. I don't know what could trigger this either.
I'm running Ubuntu Karmic with Gnome and Compiz Fusion. My videocart is a nVidia Quadro FX 570M with driver version 185.18.36

I have the same problem. It happens after every resume. It seems like they are not being redrawn. Switching a window or moving the mouse over the dock makes the icons reappear.

Ubuntu 10.04, Intel graphics card with default Ubuntu compositing.

Could you check whether this bug is still present in the testing packages in this PPA: https://launchpad.net/~p12/+archive/awn ?

Thanks!
