Bug Description
hi, it is a feature request.
I'd like if windows of running applications weren't shown in the task manager unless they're minimized. then, when they're restored, the icon would disappear: it would be a space saving, expecially for who usually opens lots of windows.
Also, I'd like if applications launched by the awn launcher weren't minimized in the same icon, but treated as the other windows...the arrow below the icon would just mean that the application is running, and clicking on the icon would open an other instance of the application, or at least give a runtime error...
you could release a patch, or another version of the launcher/task manager applet.
sorry for my english
P.S. May it be implemented in metacity too?

In 0.4 it is possible to configure the taskmanager so that Launchers do not claim a window as long as grouping is not desired.
I think in a lot of cases the preferred solution to saving space is grouping windows. Which is a config option in 0.4. That being said I think the option to only show minimized windows in the task manager can be given consideration for the 0.6 release. Though I'm not convinced that it will be an overly popular feature (I could be wrong though).
