unable to open Skype windows/menu from AWN

I am experiencing the same problem with AWN and Skype: menu does appear when AWN is started, but afterwards it won't appear anymore.
I have found no workaround (besides dumping AWN).
The problem seems to be in the "indicator 3" applet: if I remove the applet and then re-add it, the menu will show for a few times, then again it starts misbheaving.
