Bug Description

applet was working fine until I downloaded ifuse-1.1.1.tar.bz2

deleting the file allows the applet to restart by clicking on it. Moving the file from the trash back to the stacks folder, cause the error to repeat.

The applet is a folder backend, opening my Downloads folder on Ubuntu 10.10, and uses a curved gui.

Avant Window Navigator 0.4.1-rewrite-bzr820+201101220038

nvidia proprietary driver 173

I'm not sure which video card I have, and I don't know how to do a backtrace

Do you see any traceback if you run avant-window-navigator from a terminal?

Hi,

I'm a noob, so I don't know how to do what you're asking. But if you can
give me explicit instructions, I will be happy to test.

Do I have to install debug files for ubuntu? Anything else?

Best Regards,
Brian

Open your main menu, go to Accessoires and then click on Terminal. Then type avant-window-navigator and press enter. Watch for any output and especially when you deactivate / activate stacks applet.

Ok, here's what I get from terminal, after closing dock then using terminal
as you suggested.... this output results from having ifuse-1.1.1.tar.bz2 in
the downloads folder. The 4 errors at the end are the result of me clicking
on the stacks applet to try to reload it.

Google suggests it might be a bug in gnome's thumbnailer (pixbuf loader) (It also seems to happen in nautilus and chrome with a tar.bz2). Try to search in your package manager for installed packages that contain the name "pixbuf" and update those.
