There must be a bug in this bug. I am not the maintainer of this bug, but I am listed as the maintainer. I have nothing to do with this bug. Could someone correct that?

Actually, according to https://launchpad.net/products/xfce you are the
maintainer of XFCE upstream.

No, not really. I once was the one who asked to add XFCE to Rosetta, because I wanted to translate it into Kurdish. If I maintain anything, then only the Kurdish translation of XFCE, but I am not responsible for anything besides that.

Gauvain: are you sure that is the correct behaviour you expect? From what I see and read in the xfce help, the rows number only applies to the _display_ of the desktop pager itself in the panel and not to the actual layout of virtual desktops. So you still scroll trhough them with ctrl-alt-left and right , not up and down, but the pager plugin uses less horizontal space in the panel. Although what you describe would sound like a nice feature
too. Please confirm if you still consider this a bug and if so point to where the desired behiaviour is described in the docs. I am using 4.2.3 on dapper, not breezy

I'm also running 4.2.3 on dapper.
I was able to move up and down from a desktop to an other with xfce on breezy (*very* usefull), just the same ways (with keyboard or mouse) you can move to the left or the right. This feature disappeared after my dapper update. But, I still can move to the lowest desktop by dragging a window against the bottom edge of the screen. I can't see anything in the doc about this, but it used to work,... So I still consider this a bug.
(I hope my explainations are clear)

hmm you're right, dragging with the mouse works on both vertical and horizontal.
What I also see here is that ctrl-alt-up moves on the vertical direction but not c-a-down.
Were both working in breezy?

Got some news with the 4.3 Xfce packages. The issue is exactly the same, except I can now switch up and down to another desktop, but I can't switch left/right anymore.
Just after the update, everything was ok. The issue reappeared after a reboot.

The issue seems to have been fixed with last Xfce uploads.
I'll eventually reopen the bug if it happens again.
