In rewrite missing icons will probably handled more gracefully, but in the mean time you should ask the maintainers/devs of that Shiki-Mint theme to include audio-volume-muted.svg

this a default theme bundled with distrubution..... linux mint 7 gloria
icon appears, if i manually kill and start awn again

anyway, i switched to cairo dock 2 opengl.....it feels much faster and responsive comparing to awn,......

That's another way to get rid of the issue :p, but I sense you'll be back to Awn in august/september ;)
