Bug Description

Previous battery applet needed only DBus and acpi -V to access information from the battery. Now it need DBus and HAL. It could be nice to have a backend using only DBus like the previous applet.

Problem reported on Debian (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=510018).

What I asked was adding an *additional* DBus-only backend. You're cutting off non-HAL users.

Kindly,
David

Is there any chance for a non-HAL version of this plugin? Because Ubuntu is getting rid of HAL and I don't want to keep it installed just for this plugin.
