Trash applet doesn't show the trash

Bug Description
Trash applet neither reflects there's something in the trash by displaying "full" basket, nor does it show the trash contents on clicking. Right-click, then "Open" opens nautilus window with trash:/// location (and it's not empty).
Latest Hardy x85_64, awn-manager-bzr version: 0.3.1.bzr215.
Running compiz 1:0.7.2-0ubuntu2 on nvidia-glx-new 169.12+

Since this is applet-specific, it needs to go in the awn-extras project. The awn bug tracker is for bugs relating to the dock itself or affecting all applets.
