opinion: I can't see how either would have any effect on hardy at all...I've been using this on hardy for 3+ weeks without issue .....both solutions change nothing but instead of having these 2 trash directories one becomes a sym link....if in the future (hardy +1) they decide to change things around, if you keep your home directory, the new trash directory (.local) will still appear to be there to the OS....and if they decide to do away with ~/.Trash it shouldn't cause any problems to have it there anyways
