Bug Description

There should exist an "Open Location" item in the appmenu that opens a dialog where users can paste a supported URL to be played.

Well, in my tests it actually worked (at least when toggling play/pause a few times or something), but I guess it should display buffering and handle this a bit better then.

We thought a bit about this and agreed that it is definitely not an essential feature. Maybe it could be added some time later if there is enough demand for it, but I never played a video using an external player.

We're not opposed to it though, so patches enabling that (at least for URLs given as command line parameter) are welcome, but Tom is not going to spend his time on this while there are higher priority items.
