Bug Description

I am using Astrid 2.8.8.1 on a HTC Hero (T-Mobile G2). The program is great, but today I noticed that the notifications from Astrid doesn't respect the "Silent mode".

Steps for reconstruction:
1. Turn "Silent mode" on
2. Set a task with a desired end in a couple of minutes.
3. Wait until the notification is issued and you can hear the notification sound

I just tested this on a Rogers branded HTC Magic and this _does not_ occur there. I suspect this is a Hero/Sense UI related bug.

Is there a way I can help to find/resolve the bug on the Hero/Sense UI?

Do you have the alarm mode ticked or not.

I think that if you have the alarm mode ticked it ignores all phone states - just like persistant ignores all the phone states.

Today I tried the notification again and all worked like expected.
If I turn my phone into the "Silent Mode" the notification appears only in the notification area without sound.
If I turn my phone into "Vibration mode" the notification appears in the notification area and the phone vibrates.

I don't know why this didn't worked before. I rebooted my phone in the meantime a few times. Perhaps this helped to remove the issue?!

At the moment I can't reproduce this problem with my phone.

Today the problem occurred again. The phone was in "Vibration mode" and the notification sound was played at a tasks deadline

Unreproducible errors... sounds nasty. Tell you what. I've been allowing Android to handle the volume of notifications, but I'll add some code that detects System volume level and disables ringtone if the volume is set to zero.

I've attached the APK, please give that a shot and report back.
