Please review this message on CLISP mailing list relating to ASDF:

And verify if that is relevant to you, so that you can make ASDF better, as when I am loading with ASDF I am getting those warnings which were not handled by ASDF.

Indeed, it looks like ASDF will have to declare all its generic functions as "dynamically modifiable" to CLISP. And do so in a way backward compatible with older versions of CLISP that do not have the same declaration mechanism.
Patches accepted.
