Bug Description

Using the current SPL, u-boot, and kernel, the CPU runs at 1.4 Ghz and almost too hot to touch. I couldn't find a working sensor to measure the actual temperature.

Power management work is in progress.. it should solve the problem. Currently CPU hotplug in kernel is broken. work underway

I added a small stick-on heatsink which got to 62 deg C while building GCC. Clocking down to 1 GHz makes little difference as the heatsink is now at 60 deg C.

I see some of the boards have thermal paste applied below the SOC PCB.Does your board have the paste? .I have a board from the old lot from insignal without the paste. The new lot seems to have the thermal paste below the SOC PCB.There is some temperature difference due to the thermal paste.

Hard to tell sorry. I can't tell the difference between the sockets and any paste. The PCB does get warm so some heat is coupling through.
