The crash must be caused just by linking with ZThread, as in the current client configuration, it is not used at all. Are we currently statically linking the library? Maybe dynamically linking to it helps, that changes init/exit order of objects and takes care of library interdependencies.

I've disabled linking with ZThread for the client builds for now. This will give us time to handle the problem properly, or decide to drop ZThread in favor of, say, boost.
