Bug Description

I think it would be good to see the option to create a building type that would trigger a unit to come from offscreen, dock/land with structure, offload credits, then leave.
In C&C: Generals, the American side had an option like this, the Supply Drop Zone.
Transport unit could be a helicopter or a ship or even a chrono-truck, depending on side, map, etc...

This would give an alternative to the standard "ore harvester" approach, while not creating the imbalances created by arbitrary oil derrick construction.

Additionally, it could create a new and more realistic dimension of gameplay by making the players protect their supply lines. This would come in handy in longer games where the ore is running out, or on maps that have no ore.

This can already be done sorta. Create a paradrop SW which is invisble and autofires, heck you can include a sound with something like "Cargo on the way". Have the Sw target the building itself, drop self destroying"either suicide based units or some kind of suicide animation" Units which have cratesbeaneath set to true. Thus your building will call in a plane/s every x time and drop off x cash crates. You could even attach a secondary Paradrop SW which goes off every 3rd time the original paradrop SW goes off, thus making Money drops seem more random.

Of course money crates will have to be manually collected.

Sorta doesn't cut it, IMO.
Using an SW to accomplish this would clog up an SW slot, a slot that could be used for things more creative than just resource collection. Over-dependence on SW's to accomplish things, again IMO, gets kinda old.
So does reliance on crates.
I'm not saying that these aren't valid ideas, but I'd like to expand from there, hence the original nature of the feature request.

The thing about this feature is that I'm only asking for the logic that would make this possible, not a hard coded item.

SW.ShowCameo=no, it won't show on the sidebar.

I mean a SW slot in general. Had a nice chat in IRC earlier and corrected some misguided assumptions on my part, but if something like this could be done without having to resort to SW logic, that would be optimal.

Since this feature request did not gather enough community- or developer support to warrant spending implementation time on it, I am hereby formally rejecting it.
