Bug Description

Terror Drones attacking a unit in the air will fall from it after it's destruction, however InfantryTypes which are able to attack units will still instantly appear on the ground unharmed, after destroying a flying object.

Derp, I meant "InfantryTypes which are using a limbolaunch parasite-type weapon".

Can you confirm that this is a difference purely between VehicleType and InfantryType handling, or are there other factors playing into this?

Chanterier (speederyr) wrote :

It is. I have tested this for three InfantryTypes:

1) GI with DroneJump weapon.

2) Custom attack dog with parasite weapon vs. VehicleType.

3) Terror Drone turned into InfantryType.

Confirmed with the latest branch. However the infantry does not spawn in mid-air.

Fixed in the yet uncommitted build: parasite infantry falls from the sky without a parachute and dies when their host dies inair.

However, it also changes the behavior of parasite jumpjet infantry. Before, they appeared on the ground unharmed, like other parasite infantry. Now, also fall from the sky and die when their host dies...
They also fall from the sky and die when killed a ground host, unless the host has moved after it got infested (they appear on the ground unharmed in that case).

This works in 13.93.1185 same as in 13.58.740.

But to make it more clear (i didn't make it clear enough in the previous comment): jumpjet parasite infantry falls from the sky and dies even when they kill a host that is on the ground (except in situation that the host moved after being infected).
