Bug Description

A tag to specify side's/country's specific loading and score themes. It would be a good expansion of the possibility to create unique soundtracks for specific sides.

Of course, given that there are only few mods with own soundtracks, this feature request would be of a lower priority than others - I'd still like to request it.

Something simple along the lines:

[YuriCountry] ;country name
Loading.Theme=Drok
Score.Theme=BrainFre

or

[ThirdSide] ;side name
Loading.Theme=Drok
Score.Theme=BrainFre

I would also suggest

Win.Theme=whatever
Lose.Theme=whatever

Technically speaking, I would imagine that the tags involved with this would follow Theme.XXXXX format as most new Ares tags do.

I'm in support of this, btw.

Okay, so it seems that there are more people interested in this than I thought. Nice.

I would probably use this, soundtrack or not. Just one of those things that shows that you put that little bit of extra work into the mod.

TS had side specific soundtracks the logic is broken in RA2 tho, This could reenable & expand on it.

What do you mean 'broken'? I'm using side specific soundtracks currently, unless you mean something else.

Whenever I use it ThirdSide themes get given to Nod countries & Nod ones to GDI!

Apollo said that the list of themes must have GDI themes first, then Nod themes and ThirdSide themes as the last. At first I had problems with setting up those themes as well, but it looks like he was right.

K well that solves that mystery XP even tho, I'm still supporting the original request.

Supporting this feature could make the YR Playlist Manager interface rather more complicated.

Not that I'm against the feature just because of that though, however I don't think this feature is more amazing than other requests.

To be honest does anyone use YR Playlist Manager? outside of Renegade zone?

Most if not all mods which are not recreations of original games would have just customised soundtrack.

Its usage might increase if -

1. Documentation was updated to include TD, RA1, TS and expansion soundtracks because their all freeware now.

I have to agree with AlliedG on this one, if someone wants his own music to be played during the game, he'll most likely just start it in one of the media players.

Well the mods are the ones that lose out if they don't support it - the YRPM disables their soundtracks. Supporting it is easy and well documented - at least, no one has reported any specific issues.

The documentation covers all the soundtracks, so I'm not sure what the issue is there. The only thing I see that could be of benefit is providing download locations for the soundtracks as ready-to-use.

Speeder's point is fair, but the YRPM is specifically intended for users that want to hear a mod's soundtrack (either with or without customisations).

BTW, as additional YRPM support, I'm in a middle of uploading pre-RA2 ecachethemes, since the games are freeware. If I'm finished, I'll post all information on LB forums.

Those mixes are created from TFD gamerips back at 2006-2007, solely for YRPM. And before I started uploading, I checked if LB's YRPM is compatible with them.

Also, note that YRPM has already been documented in UMP.

YRPM doesn't really support side-specific soundtracks because of the pre-determined track order, does it?

It's certainly something that can be added if enough people want it, I'll just have to find the time.
