Bug Description

While I know the situation about feature requests and current schedule, I'd like to suggest several UI improvements for eventual development in the further future.

Since Generals, whenever you hover over a unit/building/any other object in your sidebar you will not only receive information about it's cost and name but basic information about what that thing is, what it can do, what are it's requirements and what it's effective against etc.

This could be very useful in Yuri's Revenge as well, because modders would be able to provide basic info about new objects (especially in TCs) available through hovering over object cameo in the sidebar.

However, this would require two things: additional tag similar to UIName=, possibly Desc= which would appear either instead of UIName when hovering over the cameo in sidebar or under the UIName in the same situation.

Currently - only UIName can be modified and will appear when hovering over cameo and when cursor is placed on the object on the battlefield.

Also, when you try to add more lines to UIName string entry game results in a crash when you hover over the cameo with such entry. Attached link to a debug report.

Related to issue #1302 - Cameo tooltip length should be(read: untested) limited to 66 characters now, since Westwood only allocated that much space for it. Newlines are not a problem.

Speeder you are brilliant with your ideas! Probably Yuri enhanced your brain during MO campaign who knows. I like this idea. We would be able to make descriptions about units and everything what has cameo!

Well, since units/buildings, requirements for which are not met, won't show up on the bar there is no need to list requirements. If you want them to be listed though all units/buildings should be visible on the bar from the start, while those which requirements are not met should be grayed out. Inclined in favor.

That's a good reciept to clutter the sidebar, even though most of the units would never be buildable in the first place, and most likely trigger the Whiteboy bug for several mods on the way. Strong support.

Well yeah, with current method of obtaining technologies, maybe Requirements aren't the best info you can give through sidebar tooltips but description etc. could still be useful.
