Crashes to Desktop Upon Starting, Error Message Unreachable

Not sure if it's my mod or the ares features I tried because I start the game, the screen flicks to the new resolution, then back to the desktop. Yuri's Revenge is running and its icon is visible in the toolbar. However, if you click it the screen turns black and the message "Yuri's Revenge has encountered a fatal erro, would you like to make a crash dump?" displays for about a second and then it's back to the desktop :/. Excepts uploading, along with rules.ini

I had this same issue on my own PC, it makes no sense since it crashes inside the BIK player. Disabling Desktop Composition for gamemd.exe fixed it for me, can you try that?

Uhh... Yeah that worked! thanks :) I guess you don't know what causes it? Well, obviously the Desktop Composition, but outside of that. Because I could play it fine when I didn't use Ares with it. O.o

run the command line argument on syringe to not play the EA/WW logos?

Or does the BIK player still initialize and that's where it crashes?

It still initializes since it has to play the main menu bg video and whatever else... Afraid I don't have any ideas why it fluked up, but for me it was back around r365, not sure why yours worked until now.
