Bug Description

The animation for the chrono sphere that shows where your units will be teleported from (before you click the destination and the magic happens) is only visible to the owner of the Chrono Sphere.

I had an argument with my team mate over this, when I was going to teleport his army to the enemy base - "Stop moving your units! Leave them where my chrono portal is" "what portal? what are you talking about?"

Ideally this should be controllable by the modder:
ChronoPortalVisibility=owner|friend|all

/signed, although this seems more like a bug fix than anything else TBH.

Supported. This is a neccessary bugfix to make chronosphere more useful in team multiplayer battles.

Did anyone actually test this? I haven't had a chance to do this myself yet but MO testers say they didn't see this work.

I can confirm what Speeder says. This does not work. No effect is shown for the ally.

After doing a little research, I've decided that we will do one more check tommorow. Please disregard above comments until I confirm this ultimately, it could be a mistake on my part.

do your MO testers have the latest Ft-superweapons testing branch version of Ares.dll?

Remember this change only took place in the ft-superweapons branch, not the trunk.

Yeah, that's exactly why I said that you should disregard those comments. They've been using the trunk version, not sw testing branch.

EDIT: All right, we tested this using correct branch.

Still no chronosphere portal is visible to the allies. We got more interesting results though.

Speeder, can you retest with the current branch binary with the corrected enum parsing?

Results: Two players, me and Alien55234 were testing chronosphere, as allied Allies (duh).

- when I open the portal and Alien's portal is not open yet, he will only see the very first frame of the opening animation and he won't see the portal afterwards. The portal is there though, only visible to me.

- when I open the portal and Alien's portal IS open, he will see both portals (that is, if I open mine after his is open already). I will only see my portal.

- if during the situation #2 Alien closes the portal, he will see the closing animation of my portal as well but for me, my portal is still open.

Thanks to both of you! This is very valuable information. The chrono portal thing seems to be way more complex than I thought.
