Crash at Campaign Start

I set up Ares/YR 1.002 on my system. Skirmish works fine (still a n00b in network games), but when i went to play Campaigns, after the movie plays, the game IEs.

I have added 196 to the version index and edited your report accordingly. Thank you for pointing that out.

As for the error, can you confirm that this doesn't happen with your installation without Ares or any mods active?
And are you just running Ares, or did you load any mods which use Ares?

I can't run non-Ares YR because of the bug I mentioned before ("Yuri Revenge crashes at startup"). I use YR+UMC with the fixes mentioned in AresManual.odt (copyed the e*98md.mix because launchbase decided not to work), although I get the same error running unmodded Ares.

The mix files included with the UMP do not have anything to do with Ares - there are no Ares-specific changes in the UMP or the UMP Dev Pack (not yet anyway).

I just got C&C The First Decade (because TFD costs less then Generals ZH + Renegade). The campaigns work.

I can confirm I'm having an ie when attempting to load a single player campaign in rev 203. I've uploaded the except and the log. IE is not present when not running with the ares dll loaded.

Yep, savegames are screwed up bad right now.

This happens when starting a campaign fresh, not from a save. Does the IE occur as the game creates the default mission start save?

I have same problem. Installed YR 1.1 fresh, then launchbase and launched Ares. When starting Campaign (Allied) just crashes.

I'm not a tester or anything, but could this be a launch base problem? (like launching it from launchbase)

No its not.

I didn't launch it from launchbase, I just SVN'd Ares.dll, Ares.dll.inj and Syringe.exe, put them on RA2's dir, then used a BAT file to run it.

As I said back in June (wow, that was a long time ago), this is due to the savegames being broken. I will fix them as soon as I can.

Fixed in 210, no longer crashes on startup of a mission.
