Bug Description

In Yuri only Yuri Flying Disk can fire two weapons at same time, but the logic is very limited to jumjet units and a drain weapons with vertical projectiles.
If the all units of all types can fire two weapons at same time we can create units like the scorpion tank from generals or heavy armed helicopters who can attack enemy with missiles and autocannons...

In favor of this. Really want to see this in action somehow...

Would be an absolutely great and useful feature. For example, something like
[Unit]
TreatAllWeaponsAsPrimary=yes/no
tag. If set to "yes", the unit will no longer use only the weapon that is more effective, instead it will simply use both weapons at the same time (assuming that both weapons can target the enemy unit, if one weapon is AA only and one AG only it should be business-as-usual, of course).

Basically like garrisoned buildings/loaded battle fortresses, where every weapon is fired independently.

The lack of this feature has always been one of the things that annoyed me about pre-Generals C&Cs.

Either that or the ability to set multiple projectile/warhead types to the same weapon slot?

Nah, this is probably better.

it should be possible to fire both weapons at the same time.
however, for infantry this doenst make sense (conisiderin human abilities)

+ vehicles need two seperate turrets (me thinks)?
 is that already a request?

anyway: support

@Firefly: What about a Cyborg with a machine gun in the left and a laser in the right arm?

And it's not mainly about the ability to fire two weapons at the exact same time, more important to me would be that units no longer use only one weapon against a target.

Isn't that part covered by bug:192?

I like that idea! It is good especially for helicopters. So Apache or any helicopter can fire both machine gun and missiles in same time.

Point taken, my comment could be interpreted that way.

What I meant was that the exact implementation is secondary to me, I could also live with a feature that lets units "cycle" through its weapons instead of using them all at once, but to avoid further confusion: I'd prefer it to work like described in the Description.

@DCoder:
well, not really.
192 is more about which weapon to choose

this one is to fire both weapons seperately.

an apache for example can fire both his machinegun at a ground target und his rocketlauncher at an airplane.

or both at a unit at the ground
or both at a unit in the sky

damn, forgot to log in (above)

however, this does not exclude 192 either. firing both weapons independently would perfectly merge this feature + 192

I propose a flag:
IndependentWeaponFire=yes/no (default=no)

This would be very useful, especially on vehicles like the apoc. If there's Rocketeers and tanks in the area it seems the apoc will choose to fire on the rockies allowing enemy ground units to take advantage of it. So yeah I'm all for having 2 weapons firing at the same time.

Heres the Ares New Weapon System-compatible Spec:

WeaponArrays - int; Number of Weapon Arrays - default 1. May not be needed.
WeaponArrayX - comma-separated list of Weapon Indexes or ALL (default)

Should be obvious from now. Tell me if it's not clear enough.

Yeah, I'd like to see a single person (because assault helicopters generally have one pilot) accurately fire two different weapons at two different targets.

I do understand that you can have two different gunners on a single vehicle, like on a modern tank, where you have a main turret gunner and then a machine gunner on the top, but in many situations the vehicle will have multiple weapons but only one person controlling them all; the situation with the apache/commanche/whatever helicopter.

If it's even possible to have a single entity in the game target two different enemies with two different weapons, I say at least allow this to be limited in scenarios where the unit only has one gunner and multiple weapons that can be fired simultaneously.

I don't think firing two weapons at two different targets at the same time is what the original request had in mind, and I wouldn't be interested in that aspect either since it would make this unnecessarily more complicated.

I don't know, it might be easily possible, depending on how the current targeting system is implemented; it might be that much harder at the same time.

Ok, point taken, I made a baseless assumption there. If I'm wrong and it's actually easy to implement, I don't mind ;)
