Bug Description

THIS IS A PRIVATE MOD for me and my friends, so yeah even though some of the content are ripped from the other mods, be rest assured I won't be publishing the mod... or to do something really rude with it.

I just need help on something. The game crashes whenever there's an Allied player, mostly happens when there are a lot of Allied players and someone's building a navy or planes.

I can't pinpoint it, sometimes it crashes, sometimes it doesn't. It's very difficult to replicate, but yeah I have the compressed file here, complete with the rulesmd and the crash dump file. I hope someone can help me in my case, really ruins our fun when the game would suddenly crash.

Thanks, and more power guys.

It seems a voxel shadow is to be drawn for an aircraft, and the shadow index to be drawn is invalid. Check your aircraft "ASW" whether ShadowIndex=3 is correctly set. This is the culprit.

Thanks, fixed it. I forgot I replaced the voxel file.

I have another one though, and this is what I think made me crash even before I replaced the Osprey voxel:

Though the crashes were rare, the crash would happen at a time when there are a lot of units in-game already, I think. I'm not sure, everytime I would try and play this 3v3 all would be fine. But when I run 4v4, after some time this crash would happen.

Thanks again.

I'm not sure what happened there. An aircraft of type KAMIKAZEAI had what I suspect to be an invalid building as target. The building had health of 750 and was owned by the house "Germans". I cannot say what building it was, because it had been removed from memory already. Might have been GACSPH, but that is a guess just looking at Strength=. Enable debug logging using -LOG, maybe this shows something. It could be that the building was under construction at the time it was targeted, but that is a guess, too.

Hello,

It took me time to be able to replicate the crash issue again, but somehow I made it, lol.

I included the debug.txt you told me that you needed. Thanks a lot :D

I haven't looked at the crashdump yet, but the debug log kinda pointed in the same direction as my guess last time: construction of a Chronosphere was aborted, then the game crashed. This indicates the aircraft for some reason could have the chronosphere set as target, which would be illegal, This is no confirmation, though, as I don't know more than before yet.

Oh.

I actually have not made any change with the Chronosphere (manipulating it is too much for my noop modding skills), but I'll try backing up my current code and try copying the entire vanilla set of Chronosphere code from a fresh rulesmd.ini copy. I hope that would do something though.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I don't think it's the rules. The Ares or game might do something wrong there.
