APTonCD does not load gstreamer packages

Bug #569182 reported by Marcelo on 2010-04-23

Bug Description

I have installed all gstreamer codecs, via ubuntu-restricted-extras package.

When I create a CD with APTonCD only see gstreamer-good package and not the rest.

Another packages are not present in the final ISO, because when I try to install packages that are supposed in the CD repo, them can not be installed because are missing...

I see when I'm creating the CD repo with APTonCD, the application is unresponsive for few seconds when is checking the uncached packages, maybe this is the problem.

I can not install multimedia packages and others from APTonCD repo due to missing packages.

System: Ubuntu 10.04 RC with all updates installed.

Thank you.-

This is not a bug, but expected behaviour.

Ubuntu does not ship these codecs because in many places in the world they are illegal to distribute without payment. Since you are getting Ubuntu free of charge (and most people are), they are not qualified to include them.

That is why you must explicitly connect to a repository that holds these codecs and install them yourself.

You will have to either manually include the packages in a specialized Ubuntu cd build, or on a usb key/cd/etc. and install the deb's yourself.

Check Medibuntu's repositories.
