Changelog on Precise says it's fixed and points to this bug.

  * lock: Fix an exception if the lock file doesn't exists

Actually the bug of the user isn't fixed: The system seems to be seriously broken, since the directory /va/cache/apt/archives isn't available. But aptdaemon won't crash in the locking module anymore.
