Bug Description

When I try to install programs with the Software Centre, it keeps telling me that theres " a programming error in aptdaemon," and that I should report it here.

The details it gives are as follows..

"Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/aptdaemon/worker.py", line 769, in simulate
    return self._simulate_helper(trans, status_path)
  File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/aptdaemon/worker.py", line 948, in _simulate_helper
    return depends, status, self._cache.required_download, \
  File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/apt/cache.py", line 218, in required_download
    pm.get_archives(fetcher, self._list, self._records)
SystemError: E:I wasn't able to locate file for the libstreamanalyzer0 package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package."

Sorry, but this is all double-Dutch to me, as I know nothing about how to fix code..or even install stuff without the Software Centre..I am totally green when it comes to working under the hood, so to speak.

Can somebody please let me know how best to fix this or give me a work-a-round, so I can get this sorted out?

My thanks in advance for both your time and help with this.

Regards

Hi again..

I forgot to mention this is not just happening with only one program..but more than a few that I have tried to install. Also, I have tried rebooting and running the software centre again in order to install, but the same error message keep popping up.

I am running the netbook version of Ubuntu on an Acer Aspire One Netbook and have had no problems to date, aside from the system seeming to slow down and stall from time to time.

Don't know if this is of any use to you, but I thought I should include it anyway.

Regards again..
