When I install Wine for running windows program, I met similar problem. That is, I can't install wine from the software center or from command lines. This is the bug detail: python2. 6/dist- packages/ aptdaemon/ worker. py", line 779, in simulate helper( trans, status_path) python2. 6/dist- packages/ aptdaemon/ worker. py", line 958, in _simulate_helper required_ download, \ python2. 6/dist- packages/ apt/cache. py", line 218, in required_download get_archives( fetcher, self._list, self._records) -installer package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package.
