Not allowing use of software center

Bug Description

I went to download a few new apps from the Ubuntu Software Center, and it will not allow me to download/update any. Says this error:
There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks.

Details being:

Traceback (most recent call last):

  File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/aptdaemon/worker.py", line 958, in _simulate_helper

  File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/apt/cache.py", line 218, in required_download
    pm.get_archives(fetcher, self._list, self._records)
SystemError: E:I wasn't able to locate file for the ttf-mscorefonts-installer package. This might mean you need to manually fix this package.

Please advise....

I forgot to mention that I am using Ubuntu 10.10, if you need any other info, please feel free to ask.

It has been a week, and I am still having the problem. Has anyone looked into this?
