Bug Description

When trying to install a new software for my data cord on ubuntu 10.10 I get the message: There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks. Please report this error at http://launchpad.net/aptdaemon/+filebug and retry.

Don't install the software... Insert the device and wait until it shows up
in the network manager. Once it does, follow these steps:

1. Right Click on Network Manager and click on edit connections.
2. Go to Mobile Broadband
3. Click Add.
4. The wizards identifies the devices and shows it in the dropdown. Click
next and complete the installation.
5. Go to mobile broadband again, select the Reliance connection and click on
Edit.
6. In the new box, click on the tab, Mobile broadband.
7. Fill in the details: Number: #777
8. Username and password will be your connection number.
9. Go to the PPP settings tab.
10, Click on Configure Methods.
11. Only select EAP and CHAP.
12. Deselect all the rest.
13. Click OK and Apply.
14. Restart your system.
15. Remove the device and insert it again.

You are all ready to surf the web.

Note: The system takes some time to recognize the device. Have patience.
Mine takes over 5 mins.
