Cannot remove or add software

Problems installing sun java on ubuntu v10.10
After get error box with 2 part message:
Part 1: There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks. Please report this error at http://launchpad.net/aptdaemon/+filebug and retry.

fixed problem for me... incomplete install
