Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
 * Log in to Gnome Shell, or any other session that does not have indicator-appmenu
 * Open any GTK+3 application, like gnome-terminal, and watch the window menu.

The window menu starts invisible, then after a noticeable wait (~half a second in my case) it appears. I have experienced this exact problem, with nearly the same timing, on two machines: one HP Mini 1035nr netbook, and one desktop computer with an Intel i5 CPU and a Radeon GPU (with the free radeon driver installed). I have not noticed any issues with GTK on either of these computers.

This problem _does not_ occur with GTK+2 applications, or with Qt applications. It only happens with appmenu-gtk3.

Oh, and the workaround to this is to remove the appmenu-gtk3 package. Not the best workaround, but it works.

True. The gnome-shell detection mechanism should start early, not later, as it is now.

This seems to be solved with appmenu-gtk3 in Precise. Can anyone else confirm that?
