AppCenter not working

App Center won't install apps, update apps or uninstall apps. The updates page is blank and does not show installed applications. This makes this application unusable. It has never worked corectly, I have to install from terminal all the time. This is on a Loki build.

I have the same symptoms and I have the Loki build also. AppCenter worked OK until I installed Synaptic Package Manager, I think.

Ahhh.... I have that installed too. Maybe that's the problem. 🤔

I removed synaptic, did a restart and tried software center again and still have the same problems.

Can anyone confirm this issue can be reproduced from a system that has not had Synaptic? The solution here might be to just make AppCenter conflict with Synaptic in packaging. Synaptic might be making some changes to the system.

I've had both AppCenter and Synaptic on my Loki build for a long time, they both work perfectly fine. They don't work both at the same time since only one application can have the lock on the package database, but it certainly hasn't broken AppCenter.

Yea I don't think synaptic has anything to do with it. Loki software center has never worked for me. Very annoying.
