App center says I have an update

App center says I have an update but when I click on it no updates show up it just a white screen.

I installed "software and updates" via app center I think that could be causing the problem because when I clicked on the app center to check that it was installed it says its not.

I can confirm that this occurs whether or not one has enabled access to PPAs.

At this point I can only use apt for installing and updating my system.

yeah I was doing updates like this from trem

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

just to test a theory I auto-removed software and updates

sudo apt-get autoremove software-properties-common

and now my app center is working

Tried that just now, and nothing.

I am using Elementary OS Loki stable release

after you type in the commands in term you need to restart

sudo reboot

edgecom@BOX:~$ sudo apt-get autoremove software-properties-common

it uninstalled for me you might be able to autoremove appcenter and reinstall it might fix your problem
