Sorry I didn't get spread setup today.

With the current logs in comment 6, this doesn't look like an apparmor denial. So either we are missing logging or something else is happening.

Can you test again with debug enabled.

noquieting set
  echo noquiet > /sys/module/apparmor/parameters/audit

and ratelimiting disabled
  echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/printk_ratelimit
