Bug Description

Hello,

First, thanks again for your wonderful theme suites, I love New Wave Dark Menus a lot !

Last version 0.8.2 is very good, I just found a little bug:

On Thunderbird lightning extension, when we configure an alarm for an event reminder, a popup window opens, and warns for this. A menu can be unrolled to snooze the reminder for 1 hour / 1 day etc...

Here is the problem: texts for the time snoozing do not appear (they seem to be in the same color as gray background), we only saw them when mouse is just over (please see the screenshot).

It is the only thing I noticed.

Best regards,

Xavier

I'm not sure if this is problem with the theme. Can you ask the developers if this is some kind of bug in Thunderbird?

If they claim the issues is in the theme ask them where exactly because I can't really find it myself.

status: New → Won't Fix

  Hello,

Thanks for the answer.

I tried with standard Ubuntu theme Human and bug does not appear, as
showed in joined picture: texts on the snooze box are in black, I do not
know why there are not also black with New Wave...

I can try to open a bug on Lightning, but I think developers will also
say it does not come from them. If it can not be resolved, this is not a
drama, as it does not make use of Thunderbird impossible.

Can you try this out with any other theme that has menus with dark background and light text? Is the bug visible?

Tested with Dust Sand, New Wave classic, Darkroom : OK, no problem,
text appears well

With Dust theme, text is also seen but very light (picture added).

Other small thing I just noticed: on OpenOffice, when selecting a menu
in top of screen (File - Edit...), and click on it, there is no
clear-gray background on the name, and on other programs (Nautilus,
Firefox, Thunderbird, Gedit, Gimp...), or in OpenOffice inside the
derolling menu, it is present.

About thunderbird:
I thought that this is the problem but testing with Dust confirms it. basically the application used the background color from window in the background of the menu and the text color of the menubar (which in New Wave DM is the same as the bg for the windows) as a text in the menu and here we have a problem ;) I still think you should report this in Tunderbird's bugs.

Now About OO:

Ubuntu team has fixed the bad black text for the whole menu for the regular New Wave and that is a good step in the right direction. The side effect is the lack of image in New Wave DM but I think it is a win-win situation.

Thanks for your help, report is done:

For OpenOffice, this is really not a problem, I just discovered it now, and this is not annoying as the texts and background in the rolling menu are fully visible.

Best regards and good continuation.
