Bug Description

Cleaned my Debian testing from gnome 3 & mate and installed lxde. After that Alarm-Clock is no longer palying sounds. When i start the program from cli i get that error masage:

** (alarm-clock-applet:6853): CRITICAL **: Could not play 'file:///usr/share/sounds/KDE-Im-Connection-Lost.ogg': Configured audiosink player-audiosink is not working.

Instaling pulseaaudio, gstreamer-pulseaudio, as suggested in some ubuntu mailing list didn't help.

Sounds like your gstreamer setup is broken. Does the following command work?

gst-launch-0.10 playbin2 uri=file:///usr/share/sounds/KDE-Im-Connection-Lost.ogg

If not, you might need to play with gstreamer-properties to get it working.

On Fedora 28 with LXDE I also experience sound problems with this software.
When opening the applet from a terminal I get the message:
AlarmApplet: Could not locate sounds!

The (arch) solution suggested on https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/alarm-clock-applet/ to install gst-plugins-good does not work for me, as it is already installed.

@mcf: That looks like a different issue. Alarm Clock will look for sounds in /usr/share/sounds/gnome/default/alerts

On Ubuntu these are provided by the package gnome-control-center-data.
